The people, food and music were amazing yesterday, at the Venice Beach Party – thanks to Venice Mainstreet, Inc. It was a free event at Venice Public Beach at the end of Venice Ave. The Jah Movement Reggae Band stole the show with hits for all ages from “At Last,” by Etta James to “Come Around,” by Collie Buddz. There were positive vibes and the sunset was impressive. There must have been close to 2000 people inclusive of children and adults. I saw people hula-hooping, dancing together, line dancing – which of course I couldn’t help partaking of, enjoying some of the food from the food trucks, drinking beer from local breweries and just having a plain old good time.
The event was free! We are so lucky to always have something going on in Sarasota, Venice and Lakewood Ranch.
